When it comes to giving books as gifts, HARDCOVERS with GORGEOUS COVER ART feel high quality in your loved one’s hands and look beautiful as they’re being unwrapped.
And when they’re INDIE, the gift feels especially thoughtful and unique.
But indie books don’t always come in hardcover and it’s too late to get some of them in time for Christmas and Hanukkah.

1. PRIDE AND PREJUDICE IN SPACE is the perfect gift for that person in your life who collects ALL the editions of P&P! And it’s not just the cover that’s pretty. There’s gorgeous ART INSIDE as well!
***Note: I found out after making this graphic that Union Square recently joined Hachette, so I’m not sure how “Indie” they really are anymore. Plus, even before that they were owned by B&N, so while technically independent, they surely had an advantage!***
I’m really sorry about not having time to redo all my research and a whole new graphic for you, but, like you, I have a ton of commitments this time of year and can’t spend all day redoing my reserach. I do think this book would make an absolutely gorgeous gift, just not for a reader who is specifically looking for indie authors only (Although the company may have been indie at time of the books publication? I’ll have to do some more digging when I can.)

2. BEHIND BLUE EYES Is FOR SURE INDIE, and I love this pick because it has such wide appeal. Not only does it have a kickass FMC and a bit of romance for the predominantly female sci-fi romance crowd, but it also is would appeal to a wider sci-fi audience, including the sci-fi loving man in your life.
And you’ll be supporting indie for sure! The author, Anna Mocikat recently appealed to readers to buy indie for the holidays “I assure you, Stephen King and JK Rowling don’t need your hard earned money, but if you buy my books you’ll help me pay my heating bill.”
3. DIAMOND CITY You can’t deny this cover is stunning! And this series starter is on my TBR so if anyone’s looking for a gift for ME… 👀
4. THE KINSMEN UNIVERSE isn’t available in hardcover on the main amazon page, but a seller with great ratings has a RARE SIGNED HARDCOVER available that arrives before Christmas! This collection of sci-fi romance novellas is perfect for the Ilona Andrews fan or of unique romance in your life!
Pride & Prejudice in space….sold! I had a copy of Pride & Prejudice…and Zombies! But never got around to reading it before I left Canada to move to the UK, so it went to a new home along with the rest of my library! Must get all the Pride & Prejudice stories.
