3 Tried and True, 3 Brand New: I can’t Wait to Fall Into These Autumn Releases!

September is my fave month of the year, and it’s not just because it’s my birth month. There’s something about the change in the weather that signals it’s time to cozy up with a cup of tea and a good book. This fall, I’m looking forward to cuddling up with some much anticipated releases by my fave authors, as well as testing out some brand new indie debuts!

Top Picks from my Tried and True Fave Authors:

Cover of Only Rogue actions showing couple in scifi landscape

Sci-Fi Romance Pick: Only Rogue Actions by Jennifer Estep

Coming October 14th, Only Roge Actions is the latest instalment in the Galactic Bonds series by Jennifer Estep.

This sci-fantasy romance series is described as “Bridgerton meets Star Wars,” because it combines high society manners and social machinations with epic sci-fi action. Plus some of the books have a bit of spice thrown in the mix.

If you’ve been waiting for this one, now’s your cue to run to Amazon and preorder! And if you haven’t tried the series, check out my review of the first book and then start bingeing!

It’s the kind of addictive series you could easily devour before October and be ready for the new release!

Cover of Saltcorp showing a sailboat on flat water framed by colourful abstract bands of red and blue.

Sci-Fi Pick: Saltcrop by Yume Kitasei

If you’re looking for sci-fi that’s a little different than your usual space opera or dystopian romance, Yume Kitasei’s September 30th release Saltcrop might be just the palette cleanser you’re searching for.

I loved how different Kitasei’s space opera heist The Stardust Grail was from my usual sci-fi read. It was somehow chill while also suspenseful, and full of interesting explorations of friendship.

If you’re looking for something a little different and you’re down for sisterhood and sailboats, preorder the September release here!

Cover image with Chloe Gong Cold Wire written in neon lettering over a cityscape background.

YA Pick: Cold Wire by Chloe Gong

My YA sci-fi pick for the fall is Cold Wire by Chloe Gong.

I found Gong’s debut Romeo and Juliet retelling These Violent Delights to be more complex and adult than your average YA romantasy. I’m super excited to see what she does with cyberpunk.

Plus, I love the premise of a dystopian future where the rich live plugged in to an opulent VR world, while those who can’t afford the subscription live in a crumbling dystopia.

If you’re willing to give YA a try, I can vouch for this author’s style! Preorder here so you get it the moment it releases on November 4th!

Top Brand New Indie Debuts I’m Excited to Try Out

Here are a few of the brand new indie authors I’m planning to try out this fall. If you like space opera as much as I do, you’re going to want to give them a shot!

Gamma Raids I cover showing a sillhouetted male and female with a background of purple rain.

Gamma Raids by R. Lynn Hanks

I’m excited to try this New Adult space opera romance release because:

a) As you know, space opera romance is my fave genre of all time.

b) The idea of an academy romance with friends to lovers instead of enemies to lovers feels like a fresh take on something I already love.

c) This character art and these microtropes. ‘Nuff said.

Another bonus with indie is the ability to access swag direct from the authors! The preorder package from this one includes a signed paperback, bookmark, stickers and other goodies. Get it on the author’s website!

The First Spark cover showing a jeweled crown surrounded by orange flames.

The First Spark by Mallory Moss

I couldn’t resist another space opera romance pick. As stated above, fave genre.

Plus, you all know how I feel about space princesses.

This one is an enemies to lovers scenario where a reluctant royal teams up with a soldier who holds a huge grudge against her family.

The First Spark debuts September 29th. If, like me, you love space princesses, romance, and supporting indie authors, consider preordering the paperback from Barnes and Noble now!

Cover of War Beyond Galaxies showing a close up of a female astronaut in a space helmet fading to an image of a space ship against a purple background.

War Beyond Galaxies by Ana Del Alamo

You’re probably not going to be shocked to learn that second to space opera romance, my fave genre is space opera.

I’m interested to try this military space opera adventure in which a female fighter pilot and her crew are trapped with the enemy.

Also this might just be wishful thinking on my part but could there possibly be room for a romance between fighter pilot Nashtara and cunning alien commander Cort Dan in future books?

Preorders are open here for a great price!
