Book Review Policy
My reviews are my personal opinion. I only post positive reviews of books I enjoyed reading.
Why are your reviews so positive?
My goal is to increase knowledge and appreciation for the genre I love, so my reviews focus on the positives.
How are your reviews useful if they don’t criticize?
Occasionally I read a book that, for me, doesn’t have enough positives going for it to fill up a review post. In these cases, I don’t post a review. Because of this, you can be sure that any book I’ve reviewed on this blog is worth picking up. You can think of my reviews as book recommendations–books I liked so much I’m recommending them to you!
Why don’t you use a five star rating system?
Star-based rating systems are viewed differently by each person. When some people give a three-star rating, they mean the book is a good quality read that meets their expectations. Other people see a three-star rating as a negative review. To avoid miscommunication, I post an overview of the the things I think are important for readers to know about a book–subgenre, spice level, triggers, writing style, etc. I hope this helps you find sci-fi books that are right for you!
Review Requests
I do not currently accept ARCs or requests from authors for me to review their books on my blog. If you have a reading suggestion for me, contact me on social media.
Compensation
I do not currently accept compensation for reviews. I am not currently part of an affiliates program.
Author Interviews
I’m looking to interview authors whose books share similarities with A Symphony of Starlight. If your book is science fiction, urban fantasy, or a similar genre and shares something in common with mine such as a youthful voice, a badass female main character, or a musical twist, I’d love to do an interview. Please contact me on social media.
I interview authors without necessarily having read their books. An author interview does not constitute a recommendation, but it does help my readers find new and interesting sci-fi authors.
