Summer Sci-fi Romance Releases that Have Me Intrigued

I keep a tab on instagram where I save intriguing new books that come through my feed. Here are three new releases I’m excited to test as possible poolside reads this summer!

Just Released: The Wildborn by Perri Torani

From the blurb: Airik, a battle-scarred warrior serving the cruel intergalactic empire of the Veynari, craves silence from the nightmares tormenting his mind. But while on post to decommission a failed experiment of a planet, a rogue human spacecraft crashes, and a reckless decision leaves him stranded—entangled with a woman he never should have saved.

My thoughts: I have to admit I’m suckered in by the cover of this one. The anime-like style really elevates this cover beyond the level of the usual alien romance manchest photoshop job. Maybe it’s just pretty packaging on more of the same, but some early reviews are saying this one has more depth than the average alien romance.

It’s enough to intrigue me. I’m definitely going to at least try the sample pages, and if the inside is as good as the cover, this one will end up on my poolside TBR!

Releasing Today: Fervor by Meg Smitherman

From the Blurb: When a solar flare grounds her ship, Midonia finds herself stuck [on a remote fringe planet, where a tiny religious colony worships an enigmatic deity called Anguish.]

Even worse, he comes to her in the night, his familiar voice louder than ever. He invades her mind with his hunger, sparking a ravenous obsession that will be near-impossible to escape.

My thoughts: I can’t wait to read this one. I adored Meg Smitherman’s creepy-yet-sexy mix of gothic romance and sci-fi horror in Thrum [review here], and also loved her high-spice sci-fi horromance Swallowed [review here]. Plus, omg you guys… Nosferatu is a comp! Sign me up!

August 31st: Glitchborn Heart by H.J. Spence

From the Blurb: In a neon-drenched city that never sleeps, falling in love is the ultimate glitch. Would you fall for the man who trapped your soul in his AI? What if he were the only one who could save you?

My Thoughts: This one had me at “neon-drenched!” You guys know how much I love cyberpunk romance, and how rare it is to find books in this super-niche subgenre! I will definitely be giving the sample pages of this spicy romance with tech magic a test run. I’d love to find a new cyberpunk romance series to fangirl over!

Keep on the lookout for possible upcoming reviews of these potential poolside reads. Or better, check them out yourself and let me know which one is your fave! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts <3
