Weekly Read: Age of Deception by T. A. White

I enjoyed T. A. White’s Rules of Redemption so much I couldn’t wait long to start Age of Deception, the second book in the Firebird Chronicles series.

As promised by the ending of Book One, Book Two sees Kira meeting her dad’s side of the family, House Roake.

The reader-beloved banter abounds as Kira accomplishes more death defying feats and wins more Tuann hearts while continuing her cat-and-mouse romance with Graydon.

But the story doesn’t stagnate–we get to meet new characters including meeting The Allfather face-to-face for the first time, and we also see more secrets uncovered, including the possibility of a Tuann traitor in the midst of House Roake. One who may be responsible for the death of Kira’s parents as well as Kira’s internment in the Tsavatee camps. Kira’s fraught relationship with her old friend Raider also deepens, and a new twist about Jinn’s Tuann heritage comes to light.

The book comes to a satisfying conclusion that also contains such an exciting cliffhanger I immediately purchased and began reading book 3!

I’m beginning to see that this art of combining a full conclusion to the main plot with an edge-of-your-seat cliffhanger that leaves readers unable to wait for the next book is what Makes T. A. white’s series so popular! She’s also published two lengthy fantasy series and a vampire series that all look intriguing!

In the meantime, I’m already nearing the climax of Book 3 and can’t wait to bring you my review next week!
